RV TRANSITION TRAINING
While I am unfortunately far from being ready for RV transition training, I think it is a very important part of the building process. I won't fly my plane until I've gotten this training, and it is highly recommended that everyone get transition training before flying your new RV. This page is a list of all known people offering RV transition training. Back when I started building, Mike Seager was the only one doing it. So, if you do RV transition training or know of someone who does and is not listed here, please email me info to be included here.
Opinions expressed are those of the author listed for that opinion.

2. Reuven Silberman pilots2@yahoo.com is in San Diego with an RV-7A
3. Bob Collins also has a list of transition training sources on his web site. Lots of details & anecdotes. Bob's training page has detailed and very interesting and informative interviews with pilots who have taken transition training from a variety of instructors.
4. Fred Stucklen Connecticut RV-6A Phone: (860)-727-2393 * not a CFI
5. Van's Air Force web site has another list of people who do transition training
6. I heartily recommend Jan Bussell for transition training. He is located near the Okeechobee, Florida airport (OBE). I took my transition training in February 2005 in his RV-6A. He also has an RV-6. After that several hours with Jan, my first flight in my own RV-6A was almost a non event. Everything was familiar with no surprises. I had not flown during my 5 years of building except to get a couple of biennial flight reviews in Cessna 152 and 172s. He is an excellent instructor. You can find out details including how to contact him at: http://www.safeair1.com/RVTT/JB_Aframe.htm Regards, Richard Dudley RV-6A flying.
I can second Jan Bussell as an excellent RV transition instructor. He knows his aircraft inside and out, and is a calm and thorough instructor. I did nose wheel training with him last year and it helped with my insurance for first flight coverage. Larry Simpson

Have flown the 4,6,6A,7,7A,8,8A,9A, and the good old 10. Enjoy the RVers the most. Located in Western Wisconsin, drop me a note at pedalmil@pressenter.com or call 715 247-5106. Tom Irlbeck

13. I recommend Pierre Smith at Louisville, GA (2J3) which is not far from Eastern Tennessee. I stopped at Livingston, TN for fuel on the trip back to Indiana. He is a crop duster pilot by profession and has his own RV-6A...a nose dragger. He is also a CFI. If you have a tail dragger that might be a problem, but he might recommend someone. Give him a call on his cell: 478-494-3757 -or 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. at 478 625 3586. His email is: pierrejs@bellsouth.net. Also, check him out at http://www.safeair1.com/RVTT/index.htm Ron Fearnow
